Commodity trading forums are very popular with traders and for a good reason. Trading is a very lonely business, it's between you and the markets. Being able to exchange ideas and trading methods and techniques with other traders on a commodity trading forum is a very relaxing and comforting thing to do after the markets close. 

Many of the commodity futures trading forums are busy even during market hours, some traders discuss their trades as they place them, which is a lot of fun for those of us just learning, it helps us understand how a real money trader places his trades and interacts with the markets, and thus commodity trading forums sometimes provide an opportunity for paper trading.
