Commodity or Futures
Exchanges are the venues where commodities and are traded and
settled. Different futures exchanges have
different rules and of course each commodity has it's own margin
and maintenance requirements which is set by the exchange upon
which it is traded.
Billions of dollars are changed hands each day at the exchanges,
millions are won and lost. The pace on the trading floor can get
very hectic when prices move quickly.
It can be extremely expensive
for a trader to have a seat on the exchange.
