All commodity charts are not
created equal. You can choose end of day, daily, weekly or
monthly charts. There are tick charts, bar charts, and
candlesticks to name just a few. Your broker should at least
provide you with a charting package when you sign up for your
trading account. The type
of charts you choose will depend on your trading style. If you
are a day trader or scalper, 10 minute delay will not do the
job!
Likewise, if you are a long
term trend trader, using the 5 minute chart is going to do
nothing but cause confusion.
Regardless of which charts you
use, the most important factor is accuracy of data. Ask other
traders what they have found works best for them. Word of mouth
is almost always the best resource for choosing futures charts.
